Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to term 4.  It is great to see the plans for the 2023 Fair taking shape.  Keep an eye out for how you can volunteer and help out our amazing Fair coordinators.

Last term we held two parent forums on the Educational Offerings at CHPS.  We had over 65 parents in attendance over two sessions.  The School Council is working through the feedback from the sessions and will shortly provide an update to the school community on the next steps.

CLASS ALLOCATIONS FOR 2024

The following provides information regarding 2024 class allocations;

  1. All year levels will be mixed.
  2. The allocation of teachers to classes will not be finalised until early December.

Students have the opportunity to list five friends they would like to be in a class with next year.  We guarantee to place your child with at least one person from their list.  Classroom teachers will organise and record friendship lists with students.

The composition of classes is a complex and delicate balancing act; taking into account friendships, learning styles and needs, suitability of teacher, combinations of children and a range of other factors.

Should you have a significant matter to raise in relation to class composition for next year please complete the “Class List 2024 – Parent Request Form” via the link below by 4pm Monday 23rd October.  Relevant historical requests will need to be updated using the link.  All requests must be submitted via this link rather than via email or phone call. Please note that not all requests will be met, particularly in relation to requests for a preferred classroom teacher.  Late requests will not be accepted.

SAVE THE DATE

On Tuesday 24th October 7pm-9pm Clifton Hill Primary School, in conjunction with TeamKids, have invited Heidi Rogers to provide an information evening to our parents/carers.  Heidi is a psychotherapist, counsellor, and speaker with 20 years experience in mental health, with a focus on trauma therapy. She will be talking about anxiety in children. The event will be held in the multipurpose room.

This week our Year 4 students moved into the upstairs classrooms of the Organ Factory. Specialist rooms will be available downstairs later this term.

We hope to see you at the Sausage Sizzle/Bake Sale when you cast your vote tomorrow.

Take care

Megan
