Art

The 4/5/6's have been busy working on their 3D art piece for the Fleece and Flower Show. We have used Paper Mache and the students have created birds. Students could think about the birds they have seen and decide how they would shape the body to make it look like a certain bird. We used aluminum foil to create the shape and layered it with paper. The students had a really positive attitude and they tried different things to get the bird looking how they want it to. Last week the students were given the choice to either add another layer of paper or they could start painting the features onto the bird. With some paint the birds are starting to take further shape. I am sure they will be excited to share their birds with you at the Fleece and Flower Show.

The F/1/2's have been working hard on their 3D art piece for the Fleece and Flower Show. In class the students have selected an Australian animal and they have been working hard on collecting information on their animal. Students then created the animal they had chosen out of airdrying clay. We used some earth colours to help reflect the colours of the animals more. The students did an amazing job using the clay to create their animal and they look fantastic. The students created a background for their animal to sit in to help show the environment it lives in. I am sure they will be excited to share their creations with you. This week the F/1/2's went outside to work on our flower artwork. The students drew the petals, stem and leaves and they were able to colour it in using pastels or coloured pencils. The students were leaning on different surfaces to give their pictures different effects. Next week we will stick it all together to have our finished flower.
