News from the classrooms
FOUNDATION:
Welcome to Term 4! The foundation students are excited to be back at school with their friends and share about their holidays. This term the foundation students are excited to be learning as a community in the connections unit where they are able to have different learning opportunities. Other exciting opportunities that we are looking forward to include tennis lessons, Sully starting and our excursion.
On Tuesday we went on our excursion to Kyabram Fauna Park. There was lots to see and the workshop was lots of fun. Some animals came up nice and close and students got to feed either the kangaroos or emus.
GRADES 1/2
Suns out!
Welcome to Term 4. Can you believe we are here already?
We hope everyone had a well deserved break and are looking forward to a huge 12 week term. This term students will need to bring their school hats and start preparing to be sun smart whilst at school. Our inquiry will look a little different this term- please take the time to read those notes explaining all the good things we have on offer for the students to participate in. As well as continuing with our core learning of Literacy, Mathematics, Inquiry and Religion, we will also continue to do Auslan with Tim, Kelly Sports with coach Wade and Physical Education with Ms McEvoy. This term we also welcome Sully, our Dogs Connect school dog who will be slowly introduced to all classrooms. We cannot wait to meet Sully and have his presence in our school.
The grade 1/2 students will have the opportunity to participate in the Kaboom sports day organised in Kyabram. This will be a lot of fun and exciting for our students to look forward to. Bring on the last term of 2023!
GRADES 3/4
Welcome back to the last Term for 2023!
We hope you all had an enjoyable break and were able to enjoy some lovely sunshine! We have another busy term ahead of us, which includes lots of enjoyable learning experiences.
Our Inquiry has a strong focus on community and connections this term, which means it will look different to how it has in other terms. Please see the Inquiry section of our curriculum notes to find out more!
Our doors are always open for you, so don’t hesitate to get in touch! This term is 11 weeks, so it will be a long one, with lots of tired children. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist with.
With the warmer weather this term, students are required to wear their hats again. If you have your child's hat at home, please ensure it is sent to school with their name on it. It is also important to ensure your child is coming to school with a drink bottle each day.
Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to a fantastic term filled with growth, fun, and achievement.
GRADES 5/6
The beginning of Term 4 has been a whirlwind of activity, and it's been an absolute delight for all of us. The sun has been shining brightly, casting a warm glow over our days and filling us with joy.
Our Year 5/6 students have been diving into some challenging but exciting topics in Numeracy, particularly focusing on Fractions. We've been busy ordering fractions using number lines, identifying and simplifying fractions, and even discovering equivalent fractions. It's been a journey of new learnings.
In our Literacy lessons, we've been exploring the art of asking questions. We've learned just how important questions are when it comes to gathering information for writing reports. It's been fascinating to uncover the power of questioning in our learning process.
For our homework in the first week, we've been on a mission to gather important information about ourselves. And in our Religion lessons, we're going to delve into the significance of the events in our personal growth journey. It's been a wonderful realisation of how unique and important each one of us is.
As we continue through Term 4, we look forward to more learning adventures, discoveries, and moments of growth together. Here's to a fantastic term ahead, filled with even more enjoyable experiences and valuable lessons!
