Farm visit
ELC 3 visited the farm on the North Campus of the College earlier this term. Mr Ken Berry and his VM students, along with our wonderful parent helpers, assisted the children to cross the road. Once at the farm, the children were able to feed the goats and visit the paddock with the 15 new lambs. It was a delight to see the joy and laughter as the children interacted with the animals. A very big thank you to all of our helpers who made this excursion possible.
Picking strawberries
The children were thrilled to be able to pick fresh strawberries from our ELC vegetable garden beds. There are strawberries galore in the garden at the moment, and it is wonderful for the children to be able to pick fresh fruit to eat as they learn about where our food comes from.
Rotational groups
The children were introduced to rotational groups this term. In small groups of up to 5, the children have rotated through activities such as puzzles, sequencing, threading, and activities to promote numeracy, such as 1-10 numeral recognition, repeating AB patterns, and 2D shapes. These activities promote children’s fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and flexibility.

Farm Visit – North Campus
Our recent excursion to the farm on the North campus was a fantastic experience. The children enjoyed exploring alongside Mr Ken Berry and the Year 11 VM students, who kindly guided us and shared their knowledge. It was a hands-on learning opportunity the children are still talking about!
Family Play on the Oval
A sincere thank you to all the families who joined us for our afternoon play on the oval. Your involvement and enthusiasm made it a joyful community event, and it was wonderful to see the children so engaged and active. The ELC children enjoyed playing with bubbles and eating zooper doopers.
Harvest Time in the Garden
Our garden continues to flourish. The children have been busy harvesting strawberries, and mint and sharing these with our families. These experiences support their understanding of growth, responsibility, and healthy eating. We look forward to harvesting some more ripe strawberries very soon.
End-of-Year Concert Rehearsals
Excitement is building as the children practice their songs and actions for our end-of-year concert. They are working hard and can’t wait to share their performances with families.
Welcome to Our Student Teacher
We are pleased to welcome Erin, a student teacher from Deakin University, who will be with us for her final 20-day placement. Erin has already begun forming beautiful connections with the children and will be sharing her developing teaching skills and knowledge throughout her time with us.
School Readiness Program
Our school readiness sessions continue each afternoon through small-group learning activities designed to build confidence and develop early literacy, numeracy, and social skills. We’re seeing wonderful growth as the children prepare for the transition ahead.
Dramatic Play – Our “School” Area
Our dramatic play area has transformed into a school! The children have loved role-playing teachers and students, exploring reading, writing, and classroom routines through imaginative play. This has been a fantastic way to build communication skills and confidence. Towards the end of the term, we will organise a ‘uniform’ day where children can practice getting dressed in their school uniform in the morning and attending ELC.
