Kindergarten 2026 Transition
Our Kindergarten 2026 students continue to have lots of fun with their school transition! Transition includes children enjoying hands-on play, fun learning games, and getting to know their new environment. They’ve taken walking tours of the school and have been introduced to important school rules and routines to help them feel confident and prepared. It’s been a joyful start, and we’re excited to see how quickly they’re grow to be comfortable in their new school community.
Yr 1- Seven Days of Creation
In Religion, Year 1 has been learning about the seven days of creation. The seven days of creation begin with God creating light on day one, the waters and sky on day two, land and plants on day three, the sun and moon on day four, sea and air creatures on day five, and land animals and humans on day six. God then rested on the seventh day, making it a holy day. Students had to create a timeline of the seven days, making sure the events were in correct order. Great work Year 1.
K-2 League Tag
On Friday 31st October, students in Years K-2 were given the opportunity to participate in a League Tag Coaching Session as well as some structured games. The activity, led by NRL Game Development Officers was a sure hit with the K-2 students.
UNE Far Out Science Excursion
On Wednesday, 5th November, 19 Year 6 students traveled to UNE in Armidale for the "Far Out Science" excursion. It was an action-packed day where students participated in four hands-on activities across different scientific disciplines.
We began in the forensic lab, where students were fingerprinted and tasked with identifying unknown substances. Next, we visited the physiology lab to observe how our muscles contract and move using electrodes. After lunch, we headed to the computer lab to study the aerodynamics of bird formations.
Our final activity was in the rural science lab, where students created their own burgers from mince. They were given free rein to add various ingredients, resulting in some unique flavor combinations. The consensus? We definitely learned that cinnamon is not a spice that belongs in a burger! It was a fun conclusion to a fantastic day before the long bus ride home.
Year 3 Poetry
Last week in Year 3, we wrote our own poems about our favourite environment (beach, sunset, snow). The students focused on their 5 senses and what they would be experiencing if they were in that environment. The students had lots of fun creating figurative language and imagery to engage the reader. Students were very proud of their work, many were excited to share their poem with the class.
Year 6 Learning Spotlight
This term, our Year 6 students have been spending part of their Tuesdays in the Secondary School as part of an exciting Project-Based Learning (PBL) initiative.
Students chose a project based on their interests from a diverse range of areas, including Bike Repairs, Christmas Craft, Budgeting and Finance, Art, Irrigation System, Sport, and Community Services. This has been a highlight of Term 4, as each group works collaboratively with our older high school students from Years 7 to 10.
