Applied Studies

Throughout 2025, the TAS KLA has prioritised valuable student engagement and the use of feedback to continually improve learning experiences. This term, we invited students to reflect on their learning across the year and discuss the projects and skills they have developed in TAS.

When invited to reflect on a highlight from their TAS subjects throughout the year, students shared a range of experiences and achievements.

I have thoroughly enjoyed making my wooden lightbox. It was a very independent task that gave me so much creative license to choose how I wanted it to look. I learned so many new skills and was very happy with the final result that I achieved.

My favourite practical experience was when we were fortunate enough to go to the Ag Industry TAFE day. We learnt so much about horticulture and even got to throw sheeps wool onto the classing table. This experience taught me a lot and I really enjoyed it.  Audrey De Jong - Year 9

I really enjoyed the case study. My group chose to grow wheat. It was really cool with the freedom and the out of classroom learning so we could try different things with the depth of soil and how much water to give the plants.
