From The Team
We hope you enjoyed a restful long weekend! It’s been wonderful seeing the children return refreshed and ready for another great couple of weeks of learning.
Our Year 3/4 students had a fantastic time today participating in the Whole School House Sports! They enthusiastically rotated through a variety of activities including Long Jump, Sprints, Hurdles, Shot Put, Javelin, Basketball Dribbling and Shooting, Golf Putting, Soccer Dribbling, Cricket Bowling, and Hockey. It was wonderful to see the students showing determination, teamwork and sportsmanship as they gave each event their best effort. The excitement and energy throughout the day reflected their growing confidence and positive attitude towards physical activity.
In Integrated Studies, students are busily preparing for our upcoming Christmas Market. Working in small groups, they are developing a product to design, make and sell. This project encourages creativity, problem-solving and collaboration, as students explore ideas, test prototypes, plan production, and think about cost and sustainability. As we move closer to market day, they will also learn about advertising and presentation, ready to share their creations with the school community. We appreciate your support in helping students gather any materials they may need to complete their products.
As the weather begins to warm up, we’d like to remind families that students must wear their hats during outdoor play and sport. At Scoresby Primary School, our “No Hat, No Play” rule helps keep everyone sun safe. Please also ensure your child brings a water bottle each day to stay hydrated, and continues to bring along brain food (such as fruit or vegetables) to keep their energy levels up for learning throughout the day.

Try This...
- Pick a number and write it four times in a row.
- Put + , − , × , ÷ between the numbers to make a calculation. For example: 4 × 4 + 4 − 4
- Experiment! What different answers can you make?
- Can you get every answer between the smallest and largest results? If not, which numbers are impossible?
- Once you’ve tried a few, ask yourself: What new combinations or patterns can you discover?
