Indigenous Art Incursion 

Students from the Blue, White, and Purple classes recently participated in an engaging Indigenous Art Workshop led by Nikki Carabetta, a First Nations artist. During the session students explored the rich traditions of Indigenous art and learned about the meanings behind various symbols, such as water, fire, rainbow, moon, sun, and animals. They had the opportunity to paint boomerangs and message sticks, as well as experiment with other creative activities. This hands-on experience not only sparked creativity but also deepened students’ understanding of Indigenous culture and artistic expression, tying in with our Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) work around caring for Country.
