Dear Families and Friends,

We thank you for your understanding and support last week. We truly appreciate the way families were able to assist us during that time. Your flexibility and cooperation made a significant difference and we are grateful for your partnership.

As we approach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to share some exciting updates and developments across our schools. It has been a term filled with growth, change, and planning for the future, and I am delighted to keep you informed about what’s happening in our community.

Staffing News

We have seen some wonderful opportunities arise for our staff, and we are thrilled to celebrate their achievements. At St Patrick’s Special School, Hannah Bason-Moore is on maternity leave, and we warmly welcome Georgia Naughton into her role. Tristian Pope, who is permanent one day per week, will step in for Melanie Ball (Condon) while Melanie takes on the Deputy Head of Campus position. Sean Perry will replace Cathy Sires during Term 1 while Cathy enjoys Renewal and Long Service Leave. We also congratulate Chelsea Lambert, who has accepted a teaching position at St Raphael’s as Inclusion Teacher. We also farewell Lani Chin as she and her family are moving interstate.

Capital Grants – A Big Win for Our Schools!

We are thrilled to announce that both campuses have secured significant capital grant allocations for 2026, which will transform our learning environments.

• Our Lady of La Vang School will receive an incredible $520,000 to fund the northern access and a sheltered pathway leading to our gym project. This will greatly enhance accessibility and provide a safe, welcoming space for all.
• St Patrick’s Special School will receive $464,000 to refurbish the Yellow Classroom and outdoor space. This exciting upgrade will create a much need space to the area.

These grants represent a major investment in our students’ future.

Looking Ahead – Renaming and Rebranding

In 2026, we will begin an exciting journey to rename and rebrand Catholic Special School. This initiative will strengthen the connection between our two campuses and reflect a unified identity that celebrates our shared vision for specialised education. We look forward to working together to make this transition meaningful and inclusive.
