It’s been a busy fortnight in PE at Rangeview! Here are some of the highlights.
Eastern Regional Softball Finals
On Monday, our Rangeview Girls and Boys Softball Teams competed at the Eastern Regional Finals and both teams went through the day undefeated, earning their places in the SSV State Finals!
The Boys Team lead by Victorian players Leo & Archie showed incredible power and consistency across all games, finishing the day with a dominant 20-run victory over Macclesfield PS in the Regional Final. Their teamwork and fielding were outstanding from start to finish.
The Girls Team also had a brilliant day, displaying composure, skill, and determination throughout their matches. In a thrilling Regional Final, the girls held their nerve to defeat Auburn South PS by 5 runs, securing their spot in the State Final as well.
A huge congratulations to both teams on this remarkable achievement and thank you to our coaches and families for their energy and support on the sidelines.

Eastern Regional Cricket Finals
On Friday, our Rangeview Girls Cricket Team competed at the Eastern Regional Finals and came away with an outstanding result, finishing 3rd overall and winning the bronze medal!
The girls had a fantastic day, showing teamwork, skill, and determination across all four matches. They started strongly with a 32-run win against Mt Waverley PS, followed by a close 18-run loss to Croydon Hills PS. The team bounced back superbly with a huge 118-run win over Jells Park PS to secure a spot in the bronze medal match.
In the playoff, Rangeview displayed great composure and teamwork, defeating Croydon Hills PS by 30 runs to claim the bronze medal!
A huge thank you to Mr Sommers for his coaching, guidance, and support throughout the day, and to our families for their energy and encouragement on the sidelines.
We’re incredibly proud of how the girls represented Rangeview, demonstrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and persistence all day. Congratulations, girls!

Junior House Athletics Carnival
What a fantastic day we had on Friday, for our annual Foundation to Level 2 Junior House Athletics Carnival! Our junior students gave their all in a range of modified athletics events, finishing with exciting sprints on the oval and the always-popular House Captain Egg Toss.
Congratulations to Team Arbor, the winners of the day! A big thank you to all the RPS staff, Level 6 students & families for your wonderful support throughout the event.
Regional Hoop Time Success
Last week, our Senior All Star Girls and Boys teams competed in the Regional Hoop Time Finals, showcasing some fantastic basketball. Our Senior Girls won their grand final, booking their place in the upcoming State Final, while our Senior Boys played brilliantly and were narrowly defeated in their final match.
This week, our Junior All Star Girls and Boys teams also took to the court, going through the day undefeated and both securing their spots in the State Final!
A huge thank you to our coaches, Ms Hubbard, Mrs Janes, Mrs James, and Georgia Cuberes, for their amazing support of the teams, and to all the parents for their encouragement on the sidelines.

State SSV Athletics Finals
Huge congratulations to our wonderful Rayani R in Level 4, who competed in the 800m SSV State Athletics Final last week at Lakeside Oval. Rayani ran an incredible race against the best in Victoria, finishing 4th overall with a time of 2 minutes and 39 seconds!
Thank you to her family for their ongoing support, we can’t wait to see Rayani’s journey continue over the coming years!
Eastern Regional Boys Netball Gala Day
Team Rangeview had another fantastic day of sport, competing at the Eastern Regional Boys Netball Gala Day in Ferntree Gully. We were incredibly proud of how our students represented the school, displaying outstanding sportsmanship, skill, and teamwork while having a great time! The day was filled with highlights and memorable moments.
Our A, B, and C teams all performed exceptionally well, each going undefeated all day to win their Division, an amazing achievement!
A special shout-out to Leo L for winning the MVP in his Division.
Thank you to Zac Clarke for his help with coaching on the day, and to all our wonderful families for their ongoing support.

2026 Rangeview Level 4-6 House Swimming Carnival
Our annual Rangeview House Swimming Carnival will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd, at Croydon Memorial Pool. All Level 4-6 students will attend and will have the chance to participate in 50m, 25m, and novelty events. If you’re interested in the average qualifying times for District Swimming, please look out for an email towards the end of the year. We will also invite any 2026 Level 3 students who are strong 50m swimmers to attend the carnival, with more information to follow in a Google form later this year.
We’re looking forward to another great event!
