Statewide Level 6-7 Transition Day
On Tuesday 9th December, all government Secondary Schools run a statewide transition day. Students will spend a day at the secondary school that they will attend in 2026. Schools run a structured program on then day to familiarise students with the school location, processes and logistics.
We wish all of our students attending this day a fabulous experience in readiness for next year.
For more information please see the Department of Education Primary to Secondary School Transition Policy https://www2.education.vic.gov.au/pal/primary-secondary-school-transition/policy
Public Speaking Competition
Over the past few weeks, our students have been learning about public speaking and have written a speech based on a theme to present to their level. From this, a student from each Level will be chosen to compete in the interschool Public Speaking Competition taking place at Rangeview Primary School on Tuesday 25th November, 2025.
This event includes a number of schools from our area and will be judged by our favourite Toastmaster judges.
Good luck to everyone who takes part on the day, and well done to all of our students for preparing such wonderful speeches.
Foundation Pevan and Sarah Concert
Foundation students travelled to the Karralyka Centre on Wednesday the 12th of November to view the Pevan and Sarah Concert. This 50-minute adventure was an absolute delight with music, laughter, and pure joy as the big friendly tiger and his spirited sidekick ignited the stage.
Our Foundation students were able to sing, learn, and giggle their way through the spectacle, and of course, see the dynamic duo in the flesh (and fur)!
Thank you to our Foundation teachers and parent helpers for making this day such a success for our students.
The Lab Science Incursion - Level 3
On Wednesday 5th November, our Level 3 students participated in 'The Lab' Science Incursion.
Students took part in this hands-on chemistry program to discover how science is woven into every part of our lives, from the food we cook to the everyday products we use.
Throughout the day, students worked in teams to conduct a series of engaging experiments that revealed the science behind materials and how they interact.
They investigated:
- States of Matter: explored solids, liquids and gases, and how matter changes from one state to another
- Acidic vs Alkaline: discovered the pH scale and how substances behave based on their acidity or alkalinity
- Temperature and Reaction Rate: how heat influences the speed of chemical reactions
- Solubility: learned what affects how substances dissolve, and why that matters in real-world situations
