Principal's Report
Flexible. Resilient. Positive. 2025
What a fabulous fortnight we have had at Rangeview! We began with a curriculum day for the Monday before Cup Day and our community enjoyed a lovely long weekend, our Principal team attended the Inner East Principal Forum in Doncaster, Level 3 experienced the 'Lab' Incursion, our String Orchestra participated in a workshop with Vermont PS, select Level 3/4 and 5/6 students competed in Regional Hoop Time, and Regional Cricket, and Regional Softball, and Regional Netball, our Public Speaking Competition progressed in all levels, our Junior School participated in the annual House Athletics Carnival Day, we ran coding club and Lego club, our Foundation students went on excursion to see Pevan and Sarah, our Senior Band and String Orchestra performed at Box Hill Salvation Army, our First Lego League competed at the Regional Qualifier, and our Level 3 students had a three day school camp to ADANAC!
On Wednesday 5th November our Principal team attended the Inner East Principal Area Forum. Our Regional Director Karen Money provided a state-wide update, and the Executive Director of Wellbeing and Engagement unpacked data from the Student Attitudes to School Survey. Our Senior Education Improvement Leaders then worked through elements of the new VTLM 2.0 and the Senior Policy Officers unpacked the Differentiated School Performance Method report (DPSM).
The below data shows encouraging strong and improving results in our State-wide Student Surveys.

On Monday this week our Level 3 students together with their wonderful teaching staff, support staff, principal class and parent volunteers, headed off to camp ADANAC in Yarra Junction. Despite some challenging weather, the campers had a fantastic time and the activities went ahead rain or shine.
A massive thank you to our school team - Sam Anderson, Danielle Anderson, Anna Lina-Nita, Maggie Murnane, Hua Chang, and Liam Sommers. Thank you to our parent helpers - Will Loveless, Joanna McNeill, Cassidy Chen, and Andrew Jacobs. Finally - thank you to our Their Care volunteer Gus Russel-King.

On Thursday this week, our fabulous First Lego League teams competed at the FLL Regional Qualifier. They faced a very tough competition and came 7th overall - which was a very strong result.
For the third year running Rangeview was awarded the Peer Award. This is a 'best and fairest' award and is chosen by the other teams. We are so proud of our Rangeview students for their positivity, ingenuity, and resilience!

On Friday 7th November Mr Clark and Ms Hubbard ran a hugely successful Junior House Athletics Day. Together with a group of tireless Level 6 students, they ran multiple sports activities around the school including sprints, hurdles, egg and spoon races, tunnel ball, basketball skills and mini-javelin. The Junior school participated beautifully with much joy and enthusiasm evident in every event. The day concluded with the annual Egg Toss in front of the whole school. I congratulate our PE team and Level 6 students on such a spectacular event.

Our final Curriculum Day for the year will be on Friday 21st November. Our staff will be participating in professional learning on the new Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0 and will also be having their annual First Aide and CPR Training.
Their Care will be operating for any families that require care on this day.
