Performing Arts

Hi all,

During the past two weeks, students across all levels have been diligently working on honing their musical knowledge and skills.

The Foundation students have been continuing their focus on Farm Animals, participating in a sing along to Old McDonald had a farm and discussing the different actions, noises and roles of animals on the farm. They have begun to role play an interaction between a farmer and an allocated animal. In Grades 1 and 2, students have been diligent participants and performers as they continue to investigate common 4/4 time through dance and group-collaborated soundscapes (pictured). Their enthusiasm for dancing and rhythmic movement bodes well as the focus shifts to combining singing and basic choreography in coming weeks.  Grades 3 and 4 have nearly honed their soundscape collaborations and will shift their collaborative focus to 4/4 dance choreography. Student within the Grade 5 and 6 cohort have been amalgamating well to produce increasingly detailed and refined soundscapes, complete with rhythmic notation to be performed to their classes in the coming weeks.

I am very impressed with the musical aptitude of the BPPS student collective!
