Principal's Message

Rachel Baker | Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

BISHOP RICHARD UMBERS

Today the students and families of St Aidan's and the Parish community joined together at a whole school Mass welcoming Bishop Richard Umbers. The Bishop then joined the staff for morning tea. The students from K-6 were extremely lucky to have Bishop Richard visit their classrooms. The students asked the Bishop many questions about his experience as a Bishop. Some questions were: How did you become a Bishop? What do you like about being a Bishop? What would you be if you weren't a Bishop? Were you upset when New Zealand lost the Rugby? (Bishop Richard is from New Zealand) We were very blessed to have the Bishop visit St Aidan's and we thank him for taking the time to be with us.

The Bishop will be celebrating Mass this Sunday 5th November at 9.30am. All are welcome.

GRANDPARENTS DAY/NEWMAN SYMPOSIUM

On Thursday 2nd November we gathered together as a community at St Aidan's to celebrate a very special occasion - Grandparents' Day. It was a day to pay tribute to the incredible wisdom, love, and guidance that our Grandparents provide. Grandparents are the pillars of our families, the living history books, and the keepers of traditions. They offer a wealth of experience and a treasure trove of stories.

The love and care that Grandparents provide are unconditional. They have a special way of making us feel cherished and safe. Grandparents are often the ones who spoil us with extra treats, share their favourite games and hobbies, and provide a listening ear whenever we need it. Their warm embraces and the time they spend with us are priceless gifts that we will always cherish.

Our students thank you for all you have done and continue to do for them. They want you to know how much they love and appreciate you. They love creating lasting memories with you and want you to know that you are an integral part of their life.

We were so proud of all of our students and how they showcased a variety of elements of their learning for our Grandparents. Our Grandparents thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and the morning tea of scones, jam and cream.

Our Grandparents and visitors then enjoyed their walk through our classrooms to view the incredible work the students have been busy with this year. Our Newman Synposium was also on display where many students were able to showcase particular products they have been working on and spoke to our visitors about their learning journey. The students displayed work that showed evidence of the exceptional talent of many students at St Aidan's.

We had a lovely morning witnessing many happy and proud faces as students were able to thank their Grandparents for all that they do.

LOWES EASTGARDENS

I am pleased to announce that as of Monday 6 November the Lowes store at Eastgardens will have a section dedicated to St Aidan's uniforms. Families will be able to try on and purchase uniforms at the store from Monday next week.

Take care and God bless.

Warm regards,
