Number Facts about 19

Interesting fact about the number 19 is that it is a centred hexagonal number. A centred hexagonal number is a figurate number that represents a hexagon with a dot in the centre and additional dots surrounding it in a hexagonal pattern. Check it out below:

Mathematics 'Problem of the Week'

Welcome back to Term 4 and hope you all had a lovely Spring Recess. We have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the answers that are submitted and have loved seeing everyone participating.

Green Problem:

Aaliyah says, 'Barak did it.'

 

Barak says, 'Aaliyah is lying.'

 

Carmel says, 'I did not do it.'

 

Dave says, 'Aaliyah did it.'

 

Only one statement is false.

 

Who did it?

 

Red Problem:

The average of one group of numbers is 4.

 

A second group contains twice as many numbers and has an average of 10.

 

Find the average when both groups of numbers are combined.
