Interschool Sports

Term 4 has been another productive and successful term for Interschool Sport, and other sport, at Edgars Creek Secondary College. 

As the Interschool Sport program draws to a close this term, it has provided many opportunities for students, teachers and teams to compete in Regional Round events, and other sport events to close out the year. The students taking part in sport this term ensured that they continued to show enjoyment, collaboration and the college values throughout.

Year 7

The Year 7 Boys and Girls Futsal teams headed out to compete in the Secondary School Futsal Championships at Narrandjeri Stadium on Wednesday 11th October. 

Both teams played at a high level, win all of their group games, and in turn progressing to the Regional Round at a later date. 

The Year 7 Boys and Girls Volleyball teams headed out to compete in the Regional Round at Darebin Sports Stadium on Friday 20th October. Both teams tried their hardest, and played with their heads held high. The boys missed out on playing off in the final, while the girls were awarded Runners Up in the Region. 

Year 7, 8 and 9 

A boys and girls soccer team made up of Year 7, 8 and 9 students headed out to play Thornbury High School in the inaugural Thornbury vs Edgars Creek Soccer Cup. 

The cup games were held at Thornbury High School on Thursday 26th October. 

Both teams were defeated in their games, but enjoyed the experience of being invited to another school to play the sport they love and enjoy. 

We look forward to what next year holds in the Thornbury vs Edgars Creek Soccer Cup. 

As Term 4 comes into its final weeks, so does the Interschool Sport Program at Edgars Creek for 2023. 

It has been a productive, competitive and enjoyable year for the program, which has seen it expand in not only the number of students wishing to participate, but expand in its outreach and relationship-building between our college and others in the wider community. 

It is with great excitement that we begin to prepare for what 2024 has in store for the Interschool Sports program at ECSC.
