During October we held our first three review days, one Validation Day and two Fieldwork Days. Tomorrow will be our final Panel Day, where all of our forward planning for the next four years will be completed. Branko Lukic (reviewer) facilitated the days, with the focus on evaluating the school’s performance against our strategic plan goals and targets. The panel visited a number of classrooms during the Validation day and settled on three terms of reference questions for the fieldwork days. The questions that guided the discussion during the fieldwork days were:
The information we gained form the review process will be invaluable in guiding our forward planning across the college. We were very proud to share our most recent parent opinion survey data with the review panel, which was extremely positive, as well as our student and staff opinion survey data which was above similar schools and state data in almost every category! This data reinforces the strong partnership we have between students, staff and families and means we can confidently plan for the coming four years of school improvement with the utmost confidence.
Since our last full newsletter there has been a huge amount of work done to complete Stage 2 and begin the work on Stage 3 of the project.
The following work has been completed, as demonstrated by the photos below.
The demolition of the administration area, staff planning spaces, staffroom and cafeteria.
Friday 15th December will be a school council approved student free day. Staff will be completing planning for the 2024 school year on this day.
No students will attend school on the 15th.
The annual Awards Night will once again be held at the Mildura Arts Centre and will take place on Monday 11th December at 6pm.
Students receiving awards will be notified prior to the evening. Students receiving awards on the night are required to attend in school uniform. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Our awards evening acknowledges the contribution to our school and academic excellence of around ninety Primary and Secondary students each year.
Through the generous support of community-based organisations and businesses, we distribute over $4000 in cash and prizes to our award winners each year.
