Valedictory Dinner

On Friday 17 November, Girton Grammar held its 2023 Valedictory Dinner celebration in the gardens of historic winery Chateau Dore.

Marking the Class of 2023's final transition from Year 12 students to Old Girtonians, the formalities opened with a rousing farewell address from Principal Dr Emma O’Rielly. This was followed by a moving toast to parents from Rebecca Ashman (12 Frew) and a response from parent Cath Robertson.

Board Chair Mr David Jemmett then revealed the well-deserved winner of the 2023 OGA Departing Girtonian Scholarship as Zoe MacGregor (12 Riley). This was followed by an entertaining walk down memory lane by School Captains Ava Griffin and Aksharan Shobanan, and a roast from the teachers.

After a toast to the future by Deputy Principal Mr Jay Weston and a speech by Head of Senior School Ms Dawn Davis, our 2023 graduating cohort crossed the stage one last time to receive their Valedictorian gifts and enjoyed the remainder of the magical evening celebrating in the picturesque gardens.

Thank you to all involved in making the night a memorable one for the graduating cohort and their parents, with a special thanks to the Community Relations Team, the Tech Team, MC Mr Dave Martin and our wonderful Girton musicians. We would also to acknowledge parents and Chateau Dore owners Nicole and Glenn Walker for their support in hosting the evening.
