Announcement of the new Girton Grammar School Board Chair

Dear Parents and Carers,

In September, I advised the School community of my intention to step down as Chair of the Board of Girton Grammar School at the end of the 2023 school year. In the time since, the Board has been carefully deliberating on the ideal successor.

It now gives me great pleasure to announce that the Board has appointed Ms Fleur Jackson as the new Chair of Girton Grammar, taking effect at the start of the 2024 school year.

Fleur has a deep connection to Girton Grammar, with both her children currently attending the School and being a former student herself. Having served as a Board member since 2018 and Co-Deputy Chair since 2020, she already plays a pivotal role providing oversight and guidance to the School, drawing from the extensive governance experience she has developed as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and by serving on external Boards in addition to her responsibilities at Girton.

With Fleur possessing a wealth of legal expertise and a strong desire to give back to the community and contribute to the ongoing success of Girton Grammar, the Board is looking forward to benefitting from her exceptional leadership abilities well into the future. 

I will be working closely with Fleur to effect a seamless handover in the coming months, and we both look forward to seeing and speaking with many of you at the various celebrations that make the end of every year such a special time at Girton.
