Code Camp: Early Bird Special
This summer, we are again hosting Code Camp, a school holiday program for Junior School students interested in coding and other content creation skills. There will be two programs available, Curious Minds and Minecraft Engineers, which will run from Thursday 18 January to Friday 19 January in thed’Helin Building at Girton's Junior School.
At Curious Minds, discover how science and technology are shaping our world with fun and creative activities! Curious Minds was developed to introduce kids to STEAM, which is about learning how to solve problems, be creative and innovative, think logically, and understand the world a bit better. These are valuable skills and habits for kids to acquire, no matter what they do in life.
Minecraft Engineers is designed to pique kids' curiosity and provide a foundation in engineering and programming using a game that we know they absolutely love: Minecraft! Your child will build a rollercoaster by learning and applying basic engineering concepts and command-based programming in an age-appropriate way.
Code Camp has already taught more than 50,000 students in Australia from Years 2 to 7, helping them develop important skills such as computational thinking, logic, creativity, user experience, app development and game building in a fun and engaging way.
