Remembrance Day
The Senior School observed Remembrance Day on Friday 10 November with a solemn service held in the Gymnasium. The event featured special guest Mr Phil Redmond, a former Girton parent, who shared captivating insights into his family's connections to Remembrance Day. Mr Redmond contributed to the poignant atmosphere by playing the bagpipes, both at the commencement and conclusion of the service, adding a meaningful musical tribute to the occasion. The commemoration provided students with a unique and engaging perspective on the significance of Remembrance Day, fostering a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by individuals and their families.
The Junior School also observed Remembrance Day on Friday 10 November with a touching service in the school yard. Led by the SRC representatives, the ceremony was conducted with reverence, complemented by the voices of the Junior School choir. This collective effort provided a meaningful way for the students to honour the significance of Remembrance Day.
