Team Leader's Message
As the 2023 school year draws to a close, Jane and I couldn’t be prouder of the Secondary 11/12 students. We have seen such growth in them all as they have matured, developed independence and improved their employability skills. Students have demonstrated their commitment to their VPC studies as well as improving their local community by volunteering their skills through the variety of Work-Related Skills programs on Thursdays. All Year 12 students and several Year 11 students have also now successfully completed Structured Workplace Learning placements with employers outside of school.
In Week 7, 25 Year 12 students and 7 staff met early at Melbourne Airport, excited to head to Sydney for an experience of a lifetime; a last school camp with their friends and a chance to visit and explore one of Australia’s largest cities. Once in Sydney we covered a lot of ground on foot as well as using public transport including ferries, double-decker trains, buses and the light rail. Here we fully immersed ourselves in the geography, history and culture of Sydney with a wide variety of activities.
On Thursday 7th December we farewelled our 2023 Year 12 graduates with a fabulous ceremony held at the Uni Hill Convention Centre. All students prepared a speech, reflecting on their time at Concord School, and presented it with incredible confidence to their families, friends and valued members of the school community. We are so proud of them all and wish them well in their lives beyond school.
Finally, Jane and I would like to thank all the Concord School staff, external trainers and community organisations that have supported our students over the past 12 months in becoming the best they can be.
