Sports News

On Friday, 13th September, students participated in the Sacred Heart Primary School Annual Athletics Carnival, and it was a fantastic day filled with energy, competition, and team spirit. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and just the right temperature, creating ideal conditions for a great day of athletics.

Students in Year 3- 6 participated with enthusiasm, competing in a wide range of events, which included sprints, relays, high jump, long jump and throwing events.

Our Prep – 2 students were able to participate in fun novelty events such as the chicken run and the bean bag throw.

The competitive spirit was alive, with each house cheering on their teammates, creating a lively and encouraging atmosphere.

After a full day of impressive performances and close finishes, it was Mercy House that emerged as the overall winners of the carnival. Congratulations to Taylor and Summer, the House Captains of Mercy, for their leadership throughout the carnival and in the lead up. They played an instrumental role in rallying their house and ensuring Mercy secured victory.

A big thank you goes out to the staff and parents who helped make the day run smoothly, and of course, to the students who gave their best in every event. It was a memorable day of sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun.
