From the Year 6 Classroom

In Literacy, the students have begun an Author Study unit on Tristan Bancks, looking at the style of his writing and techniques used to develop his texts, allowing the students to develop a deeper understanding of his craft and applying this to the own fictional writing.

In Numeracy, the students have begun a unit on Location and Transformation. Focusing on developing their knowledge and understanding on how to locate features on a map and describe the position using a grid reference system.

In other news, the students are looking forward to their upcoming excursion to Beechworth (Monday 14th October), where they will take part in a walking tour of the Beechworth Historical and Cultural Precinct.

A reminder that students are to be at school by 7:45am for an 8:00 departure. They are required to wear their full school uniform and bring recess, lunch, afternoon snack and drink bottle.

We have a number of students who will represent the school at the Division Athletics this Friday in Wangaratta, we wish them and all other students who are competing the very best of luck for the day.
