CELEBRATING SENIORS WEEK: A TRIBUTE TO OUR YEAR 12 STUDENTS
This past week, we proudly celebrated our Year 12 students during Seniors Week! It was a time of reflection, creativity, and fun as we recognised their journey through school and the exciting paths that lie ahead.
The week began with the dress-up theme: "2000+ Days of School." Our Year 12s embraced the spirit, transforming themselves into future versions of themselves, complete with canes, grey wigs, and glasses. The school was filled with elderly personas, as students had a great time poking fun at the idea of their 2000 days of schooling making them feel a little "old." The creativity and humour were a joy to witness, and it was a perfect way to kick off the week’s festivities.
Following this, the seniors showcased their dreams with the "Future Career" theme. From tradies and lawyers to business leaders and healthcare professionals, the students dressed as their aspirational selves, giving us all a glimpse of their bright futures. It was inspiring to see how passionate and motivated they are as they prepare to leave school and pursue their goals.
To add a bit of quirky fun to the week, students also participated in "Crazy Socks Day," sporting their wackiest, most colourful socks.
A huge congratulations to all our Year 12 students! You've shown resilience, creativity, and a wonderful sense of humour during Seniors' Week, and we’re excited to see where your future takes you. Well done, and best of luck with the exams ahead!
PRODUCTION REFLECTION
I enjoy being a part of production because of some of the great memories and people you meet along the way. The teachers are all so passionate about what they do and only want you to succeed. I have made so many friendships that l know will last a lifetime and have grown a stronger relationship with my teachers. If you're thinking about joining production don’t be afraid because we have all been in that same position before, l promise you won't regret it and will cherish these memories.

R U OK? DAY
At Hazel Glen College, the school community came together to acknowledge R U OK? Day, emphasizing the importance of checking in on one another. The day, which saw students and staff wear a dash of yellow, featured a special student-led video that highlighted the significance of mental health and the power of starting a conversation. In addition, outdoor activities allowed students to connect with friends, embracing the spirit of support and friendship that R U OK? Day promotes. Through these initiatives, the college fostered a sense of belonging and encouraged students to care for one another.

- I have gained confidence specifically when it comes to public speaking and speaking to a less-known audience. Sajani - Year 11
