Musical Showcase - A Night at the Theatre
Congratulations to all of the students, staff and volunteers involved in putting together the amazing Musical Showcase in Week 7 this term. The performances were outstanding and showcased the amazing talent we have within the college. Well done to Holly Timewell, who worked with an extensive group of students and helpers to pull together the amazing event.
Uniform Policy Updates
After a recent review of our Student Dress Code Policy, I’m pleased to advise of some important updates. The policy has been refined to have clear and succinct language about our uniform, the acceptable items, and its appearance.
One key change is that students will be able to wear any of the approved uniform items (Academic or Sports) on all days of the week from the beginning of Term 4. This effectively means that if a student is wearing an approved Koo Wee Rup SC uniform item, they are in the correct school uniform. This is a positive step in our uniform policy progression and addresses some of the barriers the school and families have experienced with the implementation of our uniform policy.
It should be noted that students are still expected to wear their Sports Uniform for all PE/Sport classes, however, they are now able to wear this all day if they choose. It is also still the case that by the start of next year, students must be wearing items from the new uniform list (i.e. all old uniform items will not be acceptable to wear).
If families are experiencing any financial difficulties with purchasing the correct uniform items, we ask that you contact the college for assistance.
Canteen and mobile phones use
This is a reminder to our students and families that, because of the Department of Education Policy on mobile phones, students are unable to use their phones to purchase items at the canteen. Students will need to use alternative methods for purchasing items, and if caught with their phones, they will be confiscated as per the mobile phone policy.
Enjoy the break
After an extremely busy term, I hope that our students and families have a restful break and we look forward to seeing students back for Term 4 on Monday 7th October.
