Foundation Science

The foundation students have been exploring "On the move" and how things move. This week the students investigated if a toy rolled, spun, was pushed or pulled and how the shape of the object made it move.

1/2 Science

The grade 1/2s are looking at the changes all around them and their environment if it is a natural change or a change made by humans. This week they examined different changes such as apple growing and how grass grew (time lapse) and identified changes in their cut and paste activity.

Art

Prep - 2 students have been drawing and painting crazy chickens to celebrate the arrival of 3 new chooks to our coop! Check out the display in the office and gallery area outside the multipurpose room. They are very cute!

The 3/4s are making patterns to create a 3D hessian Australian animal to live in one of the habitats found around Australia.

The 5/6s are exploring value in colour and in particular, monochromatic colours (that is, one hue with either white added to create tints, or adding black to the base hue to create shades.) We'll be painting landscapes to show these colour values.

Music

There is always fun to be had in Music! Whether it be playing percussion instruments to keep a steady beat or follow a rhythm pattern; conquering the 'Boom, Snap, Clap' challenge (ask anyone in Years 3-6!) or moving to different styles of music.

Our singing group is going to visit Sir Weary Dunlop Aged Care Centre in a couple of weeks which will bring joy to the residents there. We are participating in 'Intergenerational Month and look to visit them on a regular basis during the year.
