Our Year 7B students have had a fantastic start to the year, embracing new challenges and forming strong friendships.
Academic Progress: Students have shown enthusiasm across all subjects, developing key skills in English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities. Their curiosity and engagement in learning have been impressive! With NAPLAN nearly complete, students can reflect on their efforts and continue to build on their strengths.
Extracurricular Success: Many students have joined clubs, participated in sports, and showcased creativity in music, drama, and art. Their enthusiasm for school life is inspiring.
Looking Ahead: With NAPLAN nearly behind us, students can focus on upcoming class projects, activities, and opportunities to further develop their skills and confidence.
We are proud of our Year 7B students and look forward to more achievements ahead!
PE/HEALTH
7B has completed all of their fitness tests during the first few weeks of term in Physical Education and they have now started a badminton unit. They are great at harnessing their energy into positive participation in this space.
In Health, the class has been focussing on healthy lifestyles and studying the various components that contribute. Topics such as nutrition, sleep and exercise have been covered so far with more to come!
During their Healthy Lifestyles unit students spent a lesson studying food labels. This task had them develop an understanding of the Nutritional Information Panel, identify healthy and unhealthy options and depict prominent ingredients across a range of foods.
TEXTILES
7B have been involved this term in becoming skilled within the Textiles room. This involves learning how to cut accurately, thread a sewing machine, sew straight and zig zag stitch, pin fabric together and follow directions. These skills were then combined to design an apron that could be used in the Food Technology room next term or taken home.
SCIENCE
We have just finished their first topic and are now moving onto ‘Classification and Biodiversity’. We will be looking at how we classify organisms, with a focus on bees.
DRAMA
7B drama focused on mime this term, learning how to act without using words. They practiced skills like using big movements, clear facial expressions, and pretending to interact with invisible objects. The students enjoyed creating funny and creative scenes, such as being stuck in an invisible box. Miss Sharp can’t wait to see how they perform for their final Mime piece.
MATHS
Currently in Maths, 7B are learning how to multiply numbers correctly using a method they are comfortable with. This enables our students to be confident when multiplying all sorts of numbers and then using a second method of multiplying to check their answers.
