Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our College has been bustling with activities with students not only focused on their lessons but also taking part in excursions and events that help broaden their horizons.

Today is the last 'official' day for NAPLAN.  There will be some catch up sessions next week for students for who have missed some of their tests.  Congratulations to our students on how they have participated in the NAPLAN tests.  We are proud of their dedication and for giving themselves the best opportunity to thrive. It’s also important to acknowledge the hard work of the NAPLAN staff team. Their support in providing a comfortable space and ensuring all necessary equipment was available really helped create an environment where students could focus and perform their best.

This morning I had the pleasure of having breakfast with the Year 8 students and staff at Camp Coolamatong.  Despite a bit of rain, the students have had a very positive experience, one that’s given them the opportunity to strengthen friendships, grow as individuals, and most importantly, have lots of fun.

A huge thank you to the dedicated staff members who have worked tirelessly to make the Year 8 camp a huge success.  It’s obvious that they’ve enjoyed the experience just as much as the students!  Our staff joined in with the students at the camp for the dress up night.

Our staff and students have participated in an Alignment Review this week. This important review has provided both staff and students with the opportunity to give valuable feedback about how we’re doing, what our next steps should be, and where we should focus our efforts going forward. The review isn’t just about looking at where we can improve but also celebrating our strengths as a school community.

We were also joined by our parents and carers for a session with the Alignment Review team. A big thank you to those who attended and contributed. Your confidential feedback is greatly appreciated and plays an essential role in shaping the direction of our College.

50 students and staff had the exciting opportunity to attend the F1 Student Drive Experience at Albert Park in Melbourne. This excursion was a fantastic opportunity for students with an interest in automotive to shine and explore opportunities beyond traditional fields like sports and music. It’s events like this that allow our students to dive deeper into their passions and learn from real-world experiences. A big thank you to the staff who made this event possible. Thank you.

Sincerely,
