This term has been packed with exciting opportunities for our music students! A highlight was the year 12 top-class excursion, where students witnessed the state’s best VCE music performers in action at The Melbourne Recital Centre. Our students explored the rich history of Australian music with a guided tour of the Australian Music Vault, learning about pioneers in the music industry, political implications on concerts and even got to write some lyrics. We’re also thrilled to have announced the appointment of Mayra Sharma as Performing Arts Captain and Aryan Kumar as Vice Captain. Both Mayra and Aryan bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the performing arts space and we can’t wait to see their impact on the program! Meanwhile, our Music Club continues to thrive, with fantastic student involvement and creative collaboration. Our recording studio has also received a major upgrade with new acoustic treatment, improving the listening and recording experience for our aspiring producers and performers. To cap off the term, we’re gearing up for our Week 10 Open Mic Gig—just the start of an exciting lineup of events planned for Terms 2–4. Stay tuned!
