Dear Parents/Carers,

Term 1 has got off to a flying start with many events taking place and many more to come. 

School Swimming Carnival & PSSA Quirindi Zone Swimming Carnival

We had a great day at our Annual School Swimming Carnival on Monday, 10th February.  Thank you to those parents/carers who came and a big congratulations to our newly elected Sports Captains who lead the charge in cheering on our swimmers.  Congratulations to Arabella, Jackson, Lachy, Lillian S, Piper, Theo and Tyler who were selected and competed a week later at the PSSA Quirindi Zone Swimming Carnival on Monday, 17th February.

Many PB's were smashed, and all had a great day representing Werris Creek Public School with pride.  Well done Team WCPS.

New England Northwest Regional Swimming Carnival - Armidale

Congratulations to Arabella, Jackson S and Theodore who will compete for NENW at the NENW Regional Swimming Carnival in Armidale on Monday, 10th March.  All competitors will be swimming freestyle in their respective age groups.  We wish you the best of luck in this competition.

Tom Learoyd-Lahrs Legends Day - Scully Park - Tamworth

We had some very excited students who will today be participating in the Tom Learoyd-Lahrs Legends Day on the big field at Scully Park, Tamworth.  Good luck to Ashton A, Dominic, Kobi, Lebron and Tyler who are participating.  What a great experience for these students.  We hope you enjoy the day, and we look forward to hearing all about your experience.  Thank you to the NRL for making this event possible.

Coal Miner's Cup

Once again, the Coal Miner's Cup Rugby League Competition will be played at the John Longmuir Fields in Gunnedah on Friday, 28th March.  Permission notes and information regarding this event will be sent home this week to those who wish to participate.  

If your child is in Years 5 and 6 and has an interest in participating in any PSSA sporting activities, they will be given a note to fill in and return.  All notes must be submitted by the due date as late entries will not be accepted.
