Our Learning Weeks 8 & 9

English 

To distinguish between fiction and non-fiction texts.

To identify and describe the features of non-fiction texts.

To understand the importance of fluency when reading aloud.

To read words that have the 'ai', 'ay', 'ee' and 'ea' digraphs. 

To write factual sentences about chosen animals. 

Maths

To recognise, read, write and order numbers to at least 100. 

To make and rename 2-digit numbers using place value tens and ones blocks.

Inquiry

To identify cultural similarities and differences.

To understand the importance of games in Australian Aboriginal culture.

SELTo explore the difference between calming and cheering coping strategies and to identify when these strategies are needed.

News and Reminders:

  • Family Fun Night- 25th March 3:30-5:15pm. Games and activities on the synthetic oval. All students must be supervised by an adult. 
  • Crazy Hair Day - 27th March. Please bring a gold coin donation. All money raised will go towards Ronald McDonald House.
  • Easter Hat Parade - 4th April from 9am (last day of term). All families welcome to come along and join in the fun! This is for ELC, Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students.
