Our Learning Weeks 8 & 9
English | To distinguish between fiction and non-fiction texts. To identify and describe the features of non-fiction texts. To understand the importance of fluency when reading aloud. To read words that have the 'ai', 'ay', 'ee' and 'ea' digraphs. To write factual sentences about chosen animals. |
Maths | To recognise, read, write and order numbers to at least 100. To make and rename 2-digit numbers using place value tens and ones blocks. |
Inquiry | To identify cultural similarities and differences. To understand the importance of games in Australian Aboriginal culture. |
SEL | To explore the difference between calming and cheering coping strategies and to identify when these strategies are needed. |
News and Reminders:
- Family Fun Night- 25th March 3:30-5:15pm. Games and activities on the synthetic oval. All students must be supervised by an adult.
- Crazy Hair Day - 27th March. Please bring a gold coin donation. All money raised will go towards Ronald McDonald House.
- Easter Hat Parade - 4th April from 9am (last day of term). All families welcome to come along and join in the fun! This is for ELC, Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students.
