Inquiry Centre

Highlight

What a busy and fun-filled week we have had in the Inquiry Centre! On Monday we had our first buddies meet-and-greet of the year, as well as 1/2 sport where we practiced the novelty races in preparation for Twilight Sports in our house colours, as well as assembly.

In our literacy block we have been focusing on Questioning while reading, enjoying fiction texts, asking questions beginning with 'I wonder... What... Who...When... Why...How...?' to understand the texts we read. In Writing, we have enjoyed learning how to write letters using the correct structure. Maths as been so much fun as we have explored location and 2D shapes. We have created maps of areas and special places such as our homes, parks, school and classroom. We determined some important features of maps including grid references and a key. We have identified, sorted and organised 2D shapes and looked at regular and irregular shapes like squares, triangles, rectangles and rhombuses.

Thursday evening was Twilight sports and it was great to see so many families there! The Grade 1's and 2's thoroughly enjoyed partaking in the running race and the novelty race. Thanks for a fantastic evening of fun! It was great to see everyone encouraging each other and singing their house chants! Go Lorikeet! Go Eugenia! Go Diosma! Go Oleanda!

See you on Wednesday for a 3 day week!

Enjoy your long weekend!
