Stay informed about the latest happenings at school. It is crucial to stay updated by reading the newsletter, every second week. 

 

It is essential that all families subscribe to the COMPASS portal.  A reminder after downloading the Compass App, please search Armidale, then choose St Mary's School. 

This site regularly provides information to families. Each family is provided with a login. If you have misplaced your login details or are experiencing difficulties logging in, please contact the School Office staff for assistance. 

Family Information in Compass

Parents please go into Compass and check your details - address, phone and email details are correct. If any information is incorrect please email smaadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au with the correct details.

Canteen News

On Ash Wednesday and on Fridays during Lent, the canteen will be serving the Lenten Menu. On all other days the Summer Menu will be served.

Sports Uniform Days 

Kindergarten and Years 3 & 4 (stages ESI and S2) wear their yellow sports shirt on Wednesdays.

Years 1, 2, 5 and 6 (Stages 1 & 3) are to wear their yellow sports shirt on Thursdays.

 All students wear their coloured house shirt on Fridays. 

School Hours & Supervision

Playground supervision commences at 8:20 am.

School starts: 8:50 am

1st Break: 10:50 am – 11:30am

2nd Break: 1:30pm – 2:10pm 

School finishes: 3.10 pm.

 

SCHOOL OFFICE HOURS

The school office hours are 8:20 am to 4 pm

Change in Routine

Can you please advise the school office before 2:30 pm if there is any change in your child's afternoon routine.

Attendance 

Parents must notify the school when your child is absent from school. The school can be contacted through phone and email. If a student's absence is not recorded by 10 am, a SMS reminder will be sent out. 

 

Punctuality is highly valued. At the beginning of each day, teachers establish the day's routine and provide important reminders. We kindly request that families prioritise arriving on time. If students arrive after the bell, they must be signed in at the Front Office to ensure accurate attendance records.

 

Students Arriving Late or Leaving School Early

PLEASE NOTE that all students arriving late, or being collected early for an appointment, must be signed in or out by a parent /guardian.

Afternoon Process

Students are dismissed from class at 3.10pm and assemble in the playground for pick up,  buses or After School Care. 

 

Student Presentation Requirements

Hair 

Hair /haircuts should be neat and tidy.  If hair is past collar length then it all needs to be tied back. (Boys & Girls) Hair accessories such as ribbons, scrunchies, headbands etc, should be discreet and in the school colours of blue or yellow. 

 

Jewellery 

Minimal jewellery is to be worn to school: Signet ring, watch, studs or small sleepers are acceptable. No watches are to be worn that  

 

Nails

Nails should be short and without polish.

 

Uniform 

Uniform is monitored regularly by class teachers, and the Leadership Team. A dated note from parents is required if a student is not in the correct uniform advising when the uniform will be able to be rectified. This is to be given to the class teacher or the School Office. 

 

The school will endeavour to work with families to keep the standard for uniform and presentation high.

Mobile Phones or Devices

No mobile phones for students at school. If for some reason your child needs to have a phone before or after school, they must hand their phone in at the front office before they go to class and pick it up again before they leave in the afternoon. During the school day students can always be contacted by a phone call to the front office. If students are found with a phone during the school day, the phone will be confiscated and parents will be notified. 

 

Devices are not to be brought to school. If students are found with a device during the school day, it will be confiscated and parents will be notified.
