PRAYER

God of wholeness and hope:

Send Your Spirit of healing,

that She may accompany our shepherd Pope Francis in his illness.

As he endures pain and discomfort, give him strength and peace.

May he experience the continued grace of your mercy.

May your unconditional love comfort him and help him heal.

May his faithful and humble service continue to be a beacon of hope

for each of us who continue to serve your Kingdom.

Through Your Son, Jesus, the great healer of all, we pray: Amen.

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

Next week we will recognise significant times in our liturgical year beginning with Shrove Tuesday, a time for self-reflection and soul cleansing. The following day we will commemorate Ash Wednesday when we gather with the parish community for Mass at 9.00am. Ash Wednesday signifies the start of Lent, a 40-day season of prayer. Our Lenten journey is time for us to seek the Lord through prayer, serve the Lord through almsgiving, and practice self-control through fasting as we prepare and await the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Thank you to the parents who will be with us on Shrove Tuesday to assist with pancake making.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN will commence the week commencing 10 March for students in Grades 3 and 5. The assessments are online except for the Writing test for Grade 3. The schedule for the individual assessments is as follows:

Catholic Education Week

Catholic Education Week commences Sunday 16 March. The theme for this year aligns with the Jubilee Year, a year of pilgrimage,

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord

has risen upon you (Is 60: 1).”

During this week we will hold an Open Day on Friday 21 March. This will be an opportunity for us to showcase our school to the wider community and share the wonderful elements that make our learning environment the great place that it is. All visitors will be welcome to enjoy a sausage and partake in activities during the open morning from 9.00 to 11.00am. Thank you to Leon Moussa who is organising the sausage sizzle.

Catholic Education Week is also an opportune time for us to gather as a faith community in prayer and embrace our Catholic identity. A family prayer evening is scheduled for Tuesday 18 March from 6.30 to 7.30pm. More details will be provided in the coming weeks and we ask that you put this date in your diaries.
