Medications
Please note: In accordance with the Oatlands Primary School First Aid Policy – which states ‘wherever possible medication should be scheduled outside of school hours eg: medication required 3 times per day is generally not required during a school day:
it can be taken before and after school and before bed’.
So it is preferred that students do not bring medications to school.
All medication to be administered at school:
- accompanied by the Medication Authority form which provides directions for appropriate storage, administration and consent
- students to receive their first dose at home
- the medication is in the original container with the original label including the name of the student, information on the dosage and time to be administered
- within its expiry date
- stored according to the product instructions, particularly in relation to temperature.
Please note: It has come to our attention that students are bringing medication to have at school without it being processed through the office.
Students are not allowed to have medication in their pockets or bag to have just in case. All medication is to be stored in the office and appropriate paperwork completed.
Please see below for correct form.
