Grade 5

Grade 5 in 2024 has been an amazing and wonderful year. We have had so much fun as a year level and have done so many activities along the way. Grade 5 camp was outstanding. We did Canoeing, The Giant Swing, Raft Building, The Mud Run and so much more!  

Then in Term 2 we had our first extended cooking class. Throughout the year each grade and different kids go  to the kitchen on a Tuesday morning and afternoon to make some delicious food. We also got to meet our prep buddies! We had fun sharing and creating many pieces of work and spending time with them.

In Term 3 we had an author visit from Anna Cidoor, she told us the work and her inspiration for 2 books which were The Family With Two Front Doors and The Boy Who Stepped Through Time. We learnt a lot from her and that becoming an author is a tough job. We Also visited Casey Arc for 5 days, during different time periods. The swimming was tough but fun we learnt the basics of swimming and we visited the wave pool. The Wave Pool was amazing.

This year was amazing and The Grade 5 students had the best year ever!

Grade 5 in 2024 was a fun and exciting year. We had some really fun events such as Grade 5 camp, swimming, athletics day, the school fete and a visit to the library. For Grade 5 camp we did some great activities including Flying fox, Canoeing, Raft building, a Mud Run and much more. 

Our teachers did a great job on keeping us educated and happy. We have made some great memories through our journeys and have loved learning about each other's identities. We also got to meet our new prep buddies and we have been great at setting a good example for our buddies. In term 3 we also met Anna Cidoor, the author, we are very thankful for her inspiration too.

Throughout the year we have been learning about Health and Human Development and Friendology. Grade 5 2024 has done great at athletics and swimming. About 5 of us made it to regionals. The dance production was also a lot of fun. Our dance teacher was Keira. All of us this year together have done great things by putting in effort and respecting everyone and everything. 

Our grade has done absolutely sensationally for 2024.

Grade 5 in 2024 was one of the best years we’ve ever had so far. 

In Term one of 2024, we went to Camp Rumbug in Foster North and it was amazing! We did many fun activities like the Giant Swing, Dual Flying Fox and the Mud Run which was really fun. The food was so good and the camp instructors were really kind. 

In Term 2 we were lucky enough to have two teachers Ms Mills and  Miss Gavin. She came into our class for her university degree. We also did Health and Human Development where we learnt about our bodies and how they work. 

In Term 3, we did a lot of fun stuff such as the Athletics Carnival where we competed against each other in lots of different track and field events. Five incredibly talented people went through District, Division and Regionals but they unfortunately couldn't make it to State. 

Lucky for us, Anna Cidoor came to the school to show and tell us about her books: The Family With Two Front Doors and the Boy Who Stepped Through Time. She gave us challenges like putting on a toga and she gave us some items to examine. 

The school disco happened and we had so much fun dancing and chatting with our friends. We went to Casey Arc Pool and we learnt basic swimming skills and on the final day we got to go into the wave pool and have a lot of fun. 

In Term 4 we are now looking forward to The School Fete, Dance Production, The Moana movie and Captaincy speeches plus all the last weeks fun like Meet the Teacher Day and everything else. A lot of people also did extended cooking which also was really fun.

2024 was awesome.
