9-12 Community News

As we hit the halfway point of the term, students are focussing on the final challenges and events of the year.

After their final day celebrations, the Year 12s have set their sights on their exams with many students returning to the Tolle Lege to finalise their preparations for the exams, which began last Tuesday with English and will continue for the next two weeks. Others have already taken the next step into their careers. We wish all of our 2024 Year 12 students the best as they pursue their chosen pathways.

While we have seen the end of one group’s journey at St Augustine’s, others are continuing and setting their eyes on their new goals and challenges.

Taking on their first duties as leaders, our 2025 Student Leaders did a great job in leading our recent Grandparents and Special Friends Day Mass in front of the entire College Community and over 250 guests.

The final Year 10 Work Experience group enjoyed the opportunity to enter the world of the workforce and the reports from employers speak highly of the students’ application and enthusiasm.

In the coming weeks our Year 11 students will have the opportunity to attend seminars with the Success Integrated group, who will be talking to our students about setting their goals for future pathways, building their study skills and leadership qualities.

Today the College is celebrating Harmony Day with a parade and colour run, with lots of laughter, fun and colour.

As we enter the second half of the term, our students continue to strive to achieve their best in all aspects of their classes. Year 10 and 11 students will soon be turning their attention to their final assessments and the end of year examination period, which will be held in Week 8 from 25 to 29th November. The exam timetable will be shared with students in the coming weeks.

For our 2025 VCE students, the Early Commencement Program (ECP) will be held from 2nd to 13th December. Details of the booklist and second hand book sales were made available to students and families via Operoo last week. We ask that all booklist orders are completed in sufficient time to ensure that students have their 2025 VCE texts when the ECP commences.

Students in Year 9 will continue their normal timetabled classes throughout ECP, with the exception of the Statewide Orientation day on 10th December. On this day, our Year 9 students will ‘step up’ into the 2025 Year 10 program and classes.

We encourage all members of the 9-12 Community to continue with energy and positivity, strength and kindliness.
