SHINE ART EXHIBITION: CELEBRATING STUDENT CREATIVITY
The Shine Primary and Secondary Art Exhibition opened on the 9th of October, showcasing an impressive variety of student artwork. From intricate snail sculptures and landscape paintings to architectural designs and still life drawings, the exhibition truly highlighted the breadth of creativity within our school.
Shine was a vibrant celebration of art, giving students the chance to share their work with the school community and beyond. It served as a powerful reminder of how art can illuminate ideas, tell stories, and express emotions.
A special mention goes to our Year 12 Art Creative Practice and VCD students for the incredible effort they put into their final pieces. We commend their dedication and encourage them to continue developing their creative skills in the years ahead.
SENATOR VISITS SCHOOL
Last week our Principal, Peter Cliffe, and Business Manager, Liz Miko, had the opportunity to meet with Senator Lisa Darmanin, Federal Senator for Victoria, who visited our School on Thursday.
This was a great opportunity to discuss issues facing independent schools such as ours. We focused on topics ranging from adequate government funding through to proposed changes to the Religious Freedom Act.
After a tour of our beautiful campus, the Senator expressed appreciation for the insights shared, with an offer of assistance and support to our School into the future.
DANCING FOR A CAUSE: PRIMARY DISCO
By Peter Cliffe (Principal)
On Friday, 18th October, 250 of our primary students attended the school disco held in the gym. The event was expertly organised by Bec from 'Bop Til You Drop'. The students had a fantastic time dancing to their favourite songs and enjoying fun games. A special shout-out goes to a group of Year 12 students who volunteered to help ensure all the younger students were having a great time.
The evening kicked off with a disco for Prep-Year 2 students, followed by another for Years 3-6. The event also served as a fundraiser for the Year 12 mission trip to Thailand, raising an impressive $3,000 towards the cause. A big thank you to the BHCS staff who attended and assisted throughout the night.
