Learning and Teaching
STEM at St John's
As part of our STEM unit we are learning about the changing states from a solid to a liquid to a gas. We experimented with different household liquids to see what would happen when we mixed them together. Some produced a liquid and some created solids.
The Year 3/4 students have also explored how different liquids and solids melted at different temperatures. It was very engaging and the students now have a great understanding of chemical reactions and changing states of matter. By 3/4A
Physical Education Program
At St John's our students PE program has been enhanced over the past few weeks havingprofessional Tennis Coaches and Downball Coaches to educate the students.
The students have really enjoyed learning from the coaches and developing their skills and confidence in theise sports. A huge thank-you to our PE teacher, Michael van Rooy for helping to coordinate these programs.
AusBike Incursion
Last week our Year 3-6 students took part in a new national program, designed by Australia's peak cycling body, AusBike, which gave our students the essential skills to experience the freedom, fun and adventure of life on a bike. AusBikers accredited coaches helped to build our students competence and confidence on two wheels and promoted their enjoyment of riding whilst arming them with essential road safety skills.
