GSSC Students Collaborate with Commbank

Last term, Commbank reached out to our Partnerships Manager to explore a collaboration with GSSC’s Media and Photography students. They needed assistance in creating a short 2-minute video to highlight the region’s achievements in 2024 and aspirations for 2025—celebrating what makes them proud and excited for the year ahead.

With a tight timeline, GSSC Teacher Darryl McConnell embraced the challenge, turning it into a class project for his Year 10 Photography students. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to demonstrate their skills while meeting CommBank’s brief, capturing the passion, character, and energy of their team in the short video, which was set to be previewed at a State event.

The final product was a resounding success! The Commbank team was highly impressed with both the quality of the work and the students’ ability to meet the deadline. As a result of this collaboration, Commbank has established the annual The Commbank Innovation and Creativity Award which will be presented to a selected student each year.
