From the Leadership Team
It's hard to believe that there are only 15 school days left and it will be the end of the 2024 school year! There has been some fabulous achievements this year, lots of exciting learning opportunities and some exciting times ahead in 2025.
Pupil Free Day Planning
Our recent Pupil Free Day was an opportunity for all staff to spend the day showcasing 2024 successes and plan for 2025. Teams of staff presented their literacy learning journey and the impact that has had on student learning. We then looked at some data and built on our understanding of the Department for Education’s Strategy for Public Education. The day provided an opportunity for our staff to make connections and suggest possible focus areas for 2025. You can find out more about the Department’s Strategy by following this link- Our strategy for public education in South Australia
Staffing
As we explained in our last newsletter, there will be some staff changes as we begin the next school year.
We would like to congratulate Jacqui Iliev (Miss Jacqui), Emily Hoff (Miss Emily) and Caitlyn Hall (Miss Hall) who have all won positions for 2025 at other schools. Jacqui will be teaching Reception students at a local school, Emily will have an R/1 class nearby and Cailtyn will have year 5s at Salisbury Primary School. Whilst we will miss them all, we know that their experience and knowledge will be valued at their new schools.
Two new leaders will also be joining us in 2025. Kelsea Simpson will be taking on our B1 Leader role with a focus on Intervention & Literacy while Andrea Pelton has won the Preschool Coordinator role. We are excited to welcome them to our school in the new year.
Emily King from our preschool will also be leaving us at the end of the year and going on maternity leave. Emily is due to welcome her new baby during February.
We will share other staffing news in our last newsletter in week 9.
Materials & Services Charge 2025
Following our Governing Council meeting on Tuesday 5th November, approval was given for the Materials & Services Charges for 2025. The fee will be set at $350 per child. As announced by the Government earlier this year, families will receive $200 per child to help cover the Materials & Services Charge (School Fees) in 2025, meaning that families will only need to pay $150 per child for the year. Preschool fees were also discussed and for 2025, the fee will be $100 per term. All fees will be invoiced early in the new year.
Concert Lucky Ticket
So that we were able to include all tickets sold at the gate in our lucky ticket draw, the lucky number was drawn after the concert. The lucky number was ticket 133 and our winners were the Edwards family. Congratulations to Isla, Sadie and Max who collected their prize that went with our theme of Game On - a large bag full of sporting equipment. We hope you enjoy your prize.
Optus SIMs
We have been contacted with the possibility of accessing some 12 month data SIM cards which Optus are generously donating to families in need. If we are fortunate to obtain some of these, they would need to be activated on receipt at the school and you would need the usual ID that telecommunication providers require to do this. If you are interested should we be allocated some, please contact the office and leave your details.
Enjoy the last 3 weeks of term!
