Year 6 Science - The Solar System

We have begun to learn about the Solar System. We researched how big the planets were and the distance they are from the Sun. We then entered the data into a spreadsheet and created column graphs. In the unit, we will be learning about what a planet needs to sustain life. In our Solar System, Earth is the only planet that sustains life. Perhaps there is another Earth-like planet somewhere?

Year 5/6 Live, Life, Whole Girls Program

Last Friday, 21 February, the Grade 5 and 6 girls took part in a program called Live, Life, Whole. Meg, the facilitator, talked to the girls about their emotions, what makes them unique, their physical and personality traits, changes that they go through as they get older, the groups they are a part of and how they can encourage others. They also had Mel come in to take them for a dance class to complete the session.
