Week 3 2025

At LPPS, we pride ourselves on the wonderful things happening in our classrooms. During 2025, we will be sharing the fabulous teaching and learning that is happening across the school in the areas of literacy and numeracy.

Langwarrin Park has had some wonderful success in writing, where our NAPLAN data shows that our students are outperforming both state and like schools. This year, our focus will be on improving both our reading and numeracy skills across the school.

In the area of literacy, our Year 3 to 6 students will be using a variety of texts to improve their fluency, comprehension, spelling, grammar and vocabulary. They do this by engaging in units of work that are related to the texts. 

Current texts being explored are:

Year 3: Matilda by Roald Dahl

Year 4: Kinsukes Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo

Year 5: War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

Year 6: Rivet Boy by Barbara Henderson

Our students love participating in daily reviews that help them practice and recall information. They use whiteboards to record their answers.
