and out and about!
The positive energy and creativity in the ART ROOM has been fabulous this week!
We have been creating self-portraits across all year levels! Learning about shape, space and line. Students have also been completing their self assessment.
On Tuesday, April 1st, 60 Year 5 and 6 students from Langwarrin Park, alongside students from Elisabeth Murdoch College, Langwarrin Primary, Woodlands Primary, and Pearcedale Primary, will come together for an inspiring community event. Participants will walk between 25 and 50 kilometers in a single day, traveling from St Kilda to Frankston along the beautiful beachfront. The walk will culminate in a celebratory finish, where students will cross the line surrounded by family, friends, and the school community.
Each student is working hard to raise $500 for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal, and as a collective, our goal is to raise $200,000.
Training is in full swing, and our students are walking with impressive dedication. We would greatly appreciate any support through donations to this worthy cause. Each student has their own fundraising page, or you can donate via the QR code below, which will support Langwarrin Park Primary participants.
Our new STEM program has had a fantastic start so far. We have had a lot of fun starting some STEM challenges in Foundation, with students being engineers and constructing bridges out of Lego. Grade 5s have been learning about the STEM process by testing and making improvements on their paper planes, to make them go the greatest distance.
Thanks to a generous local family who donated Lego for our program! If you have anything you would like to donate, we would be very grateful. We are particularly after cardboard tubes (from foil, paper towel etc, no toilet paper rolls please), old CDs or DVDs, as well as other materials we can recycle into our fantastic future projects! There is a donation box outside the STEM room (room 7).
