School Picnic with KABOOM!!
Last Friday night was a perfect evening for our annual school picnic. It is a great way to start our new school year and celebrate St Francis de Sales feast day. This year the celebrations commenced with Kaboom Kids running a variety of activities.
So you think you can Dance???
Yes we were entertained by a few of our parents and staff that got the party started with a dance off! There were some great moves and a lot of laughs. The children with their families then got started with the activities. It was a whole lot of FUN!!
It was great to see a great response to this event with families that came along with their chairs, picnic rugs and plenty of food to share. Everyone, parent, children and staff had an enjoyable evening.
Seniors Enjoy Camp Portsea!
There was excitement in air as cases rolled into hall early on Monday morning. After a big hug and a wave goodbye they were off on a long awaited adventure. Our Year 5 and 6 students along with 13 teachers headed to Portsea for our seaside camp.
We were so lucky with a week of perfect weather and it was glorious to be at the beach to enjoy a well planned camp with lots to do and see and experience. For our year 5's this was their first camp and for some their first time away from their parents but they all did really well. For the year 6's it was their first time at Camp Portsea and they were all up for the adventure.
They set their own personal challenges whether it was to get into the harness and try out the giant swing or to take the opportunity to reach for the stars and go up and up as high as possible before flying through the air from a dizzying height. The fun continued at camp Portsea for two days and two nights and included kayaking, bike riding, zipping along on the flying fox, rock climbing and testing balance skills on the high rope course ad swimming in the clear warm waters at Portsea, as just a few of the activities on offer.
The first night included damper making around the fire and a FUN trivia night. on the second night we had a prayer service on the beach as the sun set. We grabbed our torches and jackets for a night walk and spotted several planets on a perfect night for start gazing. The day finished with a talent show. After two days of activities they were sound asleep when their heads hit their pillows!!
The final day was filled with a new adventure as we left Portsea and headed to Enchanted Adventure for more exciting activities. Our students checked out tree surfing, and mazes and enjoyed the fun of tube sliding. They all had an amazing time. The staff were all very proud of this group as they participated with great enthusiasm and were a pleasure to take on camp. A massive thank you to our Learning Leaders Rosie and Tanya for their coordination and planning for this Camp and for the teachers who went on the camp and gave their best so that this would be a treasured and memorable time for the children. Thanks Melody, Sarah, Claire, Rita, Amanda, Kevin, Grace, Ashleigh, Amy, Rozeta and Angela.
School Fees
School Fee statements went home today. It is essential that you have a fee paying agreement with the school. You can get a discount by paying your fees upfront this term. Alternatively you may pay by the term, month, fortnight or weekly. Which ever way you choose please let us know by completing the fee agreement.
Paying fees by a direct debit is encouraged.
It is wonderful that our families do pay fees as agreed. If you are facing financial hardship please contact the office to make an appointment to discuss a schedule for paying your balance. The school will reach out to families as well. Failure to make an agreement or communicate a payment plan may require the school to engage debit collectors.
Do you have a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card?
If you do, you could be eligible for reduced school fees. Please let us know before the end of February.
