Student Voice

At The King's College, student voice is highly valued, with the student leadership team meeting regularly to discuss ideas and initiatives. Students are encouraged to share their feedback and suggestions with the College Captains, ensuring their voices help shape the school community.

Captain's Log: Steering Student Voice!

Article by College Captains | Romi and Kenneth

As your College Captains, we're passionate about creating a school community where everyone feels a deep sense of belonging—a place where every student is seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are. The values we care about most are kindness, joy, and ensuring everyone feels comfortable growing into their best version.

We'd love to create more opportunities for students from different year levels to support and learn from one another. A buddy or mentoring system could help younger students feel welcomed, while older students can share their experiences and encouragement. Fun, community-building events like mixed-year team challenges or service projects can also bring us together, fostering friendships across all ages.

Some of our most special memories are when older students made us feel welcome and included. Those moments showed us how important it is to have a strong, supportive school family. Inter-year connections help everyone feel part of something bigger—a community that uplifts and encourages each other. It also teaches us the value of kindness, understanding, and giving back.

We want to help make our school a place where joy, kindness, and care fill every corner. I'd love to create spaces for students to share their voices and ideas so we can shape the school together. We would also like to introduce more opportunities to give back to the wider community because when we serve others, we grow in heart and spirit.

Leading the Way: Student Leaders Conference!

Article by Head Boy Puok P | Head Girl Rosie C

On Friday, 21 February, the Year 6 leaders of 2025 attended the GRIP Leadership Conference at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was an enjoyable and inspiring day where we explored what it means to be a student leader.

We learned how to help others have a voice and discovered ways to improve school wellbeing. One of the biggest takeaways was that meaningful conversations are often more powerful than giving instructions.

The day was packed with exciting activities and engaging presentations. We laughed, we learned, and we returned with fantastic ideas to make a positive impact in our school!
