Monash Engineering Girls (MEG) program is now recruiting new members!
Monash Engineering Girls (MEG) is an engagement program designed for young women who want to know about the possibilities of a career in engineering. If you like maths and science, are creative, a problem solver, enjoy working in a team and designing things, engineering might be the perfect career choice for you.
MEG will enable you to learn about the Faculty of Engineering and gain access to exclusive invitations to MEG school holiday activities. You will form connections with others like you, have lots of fun experiences, and interact with our current Engineering students to learn what it’s really like to study at Monash. You will also get to meet the talented academic staff who teach at Monash, as well as many graduates who are doing amazing things in their lives and careers. As a Monash Engineering Girls (MEG) member you will be invited to a series of activities tailored to your year level. *Diverse people bring diverse ideas. Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School – applications open
Murrup Barak at the University of Melbourne has an upcoming opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students from any state/territory who are in Years 10 to 12 and are interested in engineering and information technology. The Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS) runs over 5 days in the first week of the July school holidays and will provide students with insight into what it’s like to study and work in engineering, information technology and tech — and it may not be what they think.
Students will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the work of engineers and IT specialists, meet Indigenous engineering professionals and discover pathways into engineering and IT. By the end of the week, students will have an appreciation of what an engineering and IT specialist does and how they can impact society and improve the lives of people across the globe. Splash’s employment opportunities for Year 9-12 students
Splash’s Learn to Swim is seeking students in Years 9-12 to join their teams of swim teachers and teaching assistants. Students aged 14 years and over who are reliable, energetic and work well in a team are encouraged to apply. They have shifts available after school on weekdays and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Weekday morning and afternoon shifts are also available for students that have recently finished secondary school.
Splash’s offers a fun, dynamic work environment with excellent conditions, including provision of uniform, mentoring and ongoing training. They have four centres in the south-east: Berwick, Clyde North, Dandenong and Pakenham.
