TERM 4

The year is flying by and it is hard to believe that tomorrow will be December.  The school calendar leading up to the end of the year looks full.  Check out the 'Dates for your Diary' section of this newsletter to find preliminary dates for 2024.

Volunteer's Morning Tea

Tomorrow, Friday 1 December at 10:40 we invite all parents who have volunteered throughout the school year to come for morning tea.  If at any time over the year you have volunteered your time (BBQs, Trivia Night, classroom activities, excursions, camps, Chickens, sporting events etc....) then please come along on Friday and join us for coffee and treats.

Musical Soiree

This week, forty-five of our instrumental students performed for their parents and families. Many of these students have just commenced their lessons and although a little nervous, performed with great skill and composure.  Thank you to our instrumental teachers - Diana Matthews (keyboard), Laura Harris (Percussion) and Tom Glover (guitar) for all of your preparation of the students and program.  Instrumental lessons will be back again in 2024, forms available soon.

60th Anniversary Events

  • Trivia Night - Two weeks ago we ran our 60th Anniversary Trivia Night which was amazing.  Past and present families came together to celebrate all things Mullum. An amazing amount of money, $10 140 was raised towards the improved running track and ground works around the oval.   Thank you to our organisers - Priscilla, Bao, Helen, Ros, Narelle and Jenny.  Thank you also to our MCs for the night - Tim and Digger.  We are also grateful for the sponsorship of Ros Office Supplies, H&L Moodie electrical, Ultimate 9 and MacKenzies Tourist Services.
  • Kid's 60th Birthday Party - The day started with a gigantic chocolate cake and singing happy birthday at assembly.  Twisting and bopping along to music from 1963;  under the Limbo stick and old fashioned games were on offer at the lunch break.

Phoebe O'Shaughnessy is leaving us and heading to Melbourne Grammar School at the end of the year, to take up a teaching position there.  We wish her all the very best as she makes this transition and thank her for her contribution to Mullum Primary School over the last two years.

We also say farewell to Ros Hill, long-time staff member at Mullum Primary School and at Norwood Primary School before that.  Over the last few years Ros has been working with our Grade 3/4 students in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program.  We want to thank Ros for all of her contributions to educating so many of our current and past Mullum students, and wish her all the very best in her retirement.
