CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week in Reading we are learning to analyse, critique and give our opinion on narrative texts. We are also maintaining our confidence to identify narrative features and their structure. 

VOCABULARY

Narrative: A made up story.

Characters: Who is in the narrative.

Sizzling start: An exciting beginning that grabs the reader’s attention. 

Setting: Where the narrative takes place.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

When Reading with your child, stop and ask what the important information is. Then continue reading. When you finish reading the book you can combine all those important bits of information to help identify the main idea.
